Me, I'm a bum who likes reading comics and talking about them ad nauseam. I can spend all day long talking about the characters, their qualities, storylines, the industry, and everything in between. But commonly I can't really go into the depth I want regardless of good or bad, and this is why I've created this blog. I previously have written a couple posts for a different and wonderful blogsite, but I didn't do well with the whole short format and I prefer tl;dr posts which skew into slightly unfriendly territory where the other site demanded such things as "professionalism," "treating people like human beings," and "spell check." Things I can't be bothered with. Don't get me wrong that place is wonderful, but it has too many ethics for scum like me to thrive in.
I want to rant about things I hate, extoll things I enjoy, brainstorm and discover things about comics and storylines I never thought about previously as I develop knowledge. If I think art is horrendous or misleading, I want to rail on that. If I think a story is a head and above others and want to spend several lines kissing rear-side, I want to submit a post without someone trying to appeal to reason. Most of all I just really want to talk about the slick pages of paper filled with fictional characters in impossible situations doing things that range from the mundane to the fantastic. I want to talk about comics. Sometimes it will be in a few short paragraphs and some might be much longer. In this blog you will find everything from reviews on individual issues,
talk about entire story lines, comparisons to other publishers, talk
about television, video games, diet soda, the New World Order, and obviously plenty of rambling about subjects I just
sort of want to run my mouth on. While I'm going to try and get a
couple things up a week, there's clearly no guarantee because things
like bills come first. So please read on, comment, let me know how
little I understand, correct me, and in general feed me with rage. It's also painfully obvious I'm a beginner with the whole blog thing, so do me a favor and let me know how bad of a job I'm doing and backseat drive some of this stuff.
But do let me elaborate my position with this little page of which I'm
sure only I will ever read: I'm not "edgy" or "trying to be cool through
hating stuff." I honestly don't hate comics or think I'm edgy. I'm
just a jerk who comes off as...well... a jerk. This isn't a place for
me to condescend on those who do enjoy comics for whatever reason and I
don't just hate things to hate them. Unless you're one of the special
comic "talents" who I do hate and just happen to be popular. Or does
that make me "edgy"? Either way, this isn't the place to put things we
dislike just because it makes us seem cool. I legitimately dislike
Wolverine, not because fanboys and fangirls are lining up to polish him
in unsavory manners, but because I straight up just dislike him as a
character and what he represents in comics.
Also I own cats, live in an apartment, play video games, have parents and siblings, drive cars, enjoy television, and eat foods I really shouldn't. My views are simple: blind from nearsightedness. Had it since I was in middle school and can't see anything without my trusty glasses. I also enjoy the occasional beer, road trips, teasing, and Halloween.
I'll probably update this page with more stuff as I come around to understanding just what I should actually put in here, or as my tastes change. There is always a risk I will someday stop liking Halloween.
